Society
of Broadcast Engineers[This page describes a course that has already taken place.]
Los Angeles Convention Center, Wednesday, October 9,
1996, 9 am to 11:30 am
Snell & Wilcox sponsored
me to present one of the four SBE Ennes tutorials:
Digital Television - Compression - High Definition - Widescreen. These new and forthcoming industry standards and formats represent a formidable challenge for all broadcasters and television professionals. This presentation will explore the options available with today's technology. In combination with the afternoon ATV planning session, you will have access to the information you need to complete your planning.
I interpreted the title fairly liberally, and also talked about some
of the technical concerns in using computer technology in program production
and distribution, production for multiple distribution media (including
the Internet), some issues in emerging display technology, and technical
aspects of the convergence (or is it collision?) of computing and consumer
electronics.
The event was held in conjunction with World Media Expo, which also included
the SMPTE Fall Conference.
