[This page describes a course that has already taken place.]
New Orleans, Tuesday, August 6, 1996
I organized this full day course for SIGGRAPH. In the morning, I presented
sessions on tone reproduction and color reproduction. In the afternoon,
my colleague Michael Bourgoin of Adobe discussed color in printing, Thor
Olson of MGI presented color in film (including film recording), and Jan
De Clippeleer of Agfa presented color management technology. Based on the
principles of perception, color science, and color image coding presented
throughout the day, I discussed issues of color in computer human interface.
The day ended with a discussion of future directions and a general Q &
A session. An
agenda for this course was posted at the SIGGRAPH site; general
information about the conference was also available..
